All things new?

With the coming of the New Year, we often try to make resolutions to do SOMETHING better. And yes, we all have room for improvement. However, as the old adage says "let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater." Change is difficult for any of one of us. Making wholesale adjustments is a recipe for disaster - that process almost always signifies failure as there are too many factors to compensate for adequately. Success on the other hand, usually comes in small doses. One change at a time. It's often helpful to make it a small shift in order to thrive. Then that accomplishment can be the building block for the next, etc, etc. As people of faith, we also have a promise: "Behold, I make all things new." Revelation 21:5. So we don't have to do it all on our own. God's purpose + our attitudes and our actions = bountiful blessings. So in this time of year when we focus on the new, don't forget the beautiful Old that can be repurposed into New.
