Rebuild. Restore. Renew.
In trying to convey part of what this Sanctuary does, I focused on a three word process: Rebuild. Restore. Renew. Not every one of these steps is required for healing therapy to occur, though they give a good framework (pun intended). The online dictionary says that Rebuild means to “build (something) again after it has been damaged or destroyed.” I seek to help those working to rebuild their sense of self, identity, or purpose after a significant life event. It doesn’t have to be negative to have an impact, which surprises some. Restore is defined as to “bring back; or return (someone or something) to a former condition, place, or position.” Often the waves of life seem to knock down some of the foundational pillars that we use to define our lives. As we look upon what seems to be wreckage it can appear to be an unsolvable mess. Yet I believe that restoration is always possible, with the right encouragement, support & truth. Renews’ meaning states that it is to “resume (an activity) after an interruption; to reestablish.” I fully believe in the power of counseling that enables people to resume or reestablish their lives in a healthier, happier state. I invite each individual to see how they can Rebuild Restore Renew within the Safety of Sanctuary.
